Hundreds of kilograms of food, candy and other provisions-an enormous Mishloach Manot- filled a giant container at the Knesset, and was delivered by the students of Ulpenat BA Yeshurun in Petach Tikva, who had spent the month of Adar learning about the value of "The Joy of Giving".  Every grade in the school participated in this endeavor, which, in honor of the 70th year of the State of Israsel, was organized according to themes in Israel's Declaration of Independence, including "Produce of Israel", "Ingathering of the Exiles", "Social Equality" and others. The students were honored with a visit from the Speaker of the Knesset, Yuli Edelstein, who was particularly touched by the title of the project "Yachad Shivtei Yisrael-All of Israel Together". Edelstein told the students about his time as a Refusenik in the Soviet Union. All of the food in the giant Mishloach Manot will be distributed to needy families for Purim. Yasher Koach to the students of Yeshurun, who demonstrated that the joy and fun of Purim go hand in hand with Chesed and social responsibility!
