YBA Leading the Way
Jerusalem: In the annual awards ceremony for National-Religious education, held in Zedekiah’s Cave, near the walls of the Old City, two of the five institutions recognized for excellence in post-elementary education are members of the YBA network: Yeshivat Bnei Akiva Kiryat Herzog in the Tel Aviv region, and Bnei Akiva Torah U’Madda High School Herev Le’et in the Hefer valley. The awards were presented by minister of education Naftali Bennet.
Haifa, Meron: Students of Ulpanot Bnei Akiva placed first in both the Haifa and Northern regional Chidon Hatanach [Bible contest]. This is the fifth time in the past decade that the contest in the Northern region was won by a YBA student.
Holon: Hundreds of students, alumni and community members attended the inauguration of a beautiful new building on YBA’s campus in the city. Mayor Moti Sasson praised YBA for its role in the renaissance of Religious Zionist education in Holon, and HaRav Chaim Druckman, who was honored with the ribbon-cutting, remarked that when he first visited Holon 70 years ago, “it hardly existed.” Now, he noted “the city is abuzz with a spirit of accomplishment, giving, Torah and momentum.”
